wo bleibt das Enterprise Search Feature Pack?
Image via Wikipediaes sind nun schon einige monate vergangen, seit der ms search server 2008 verfügbar ist – und ebensolange ist uns das “enterprise search feature pack” versprochen (siehe auch hinweis ganz unten auf der seite http://www.microsoft.com/enterprisesearch/serverproducts/default.aspx), mit dem auch moss features wie federated search connectors verwenden kann.
die beiden links auf der sharepoint updates seite (mit jeweils einem kb) sind nicht gültig, auch sonst kann man es nirgends finden…

nun ist es also da; es sieht im wesentlichen nicht wirklich anders als sein vorgänger aus – und doch gibt es drei wesentliche verbesserungen:
– GPS: ich freue mich schon auf navi-lösungen…
– ActiveSync: eigentlich das “killer-feature”; das bisherige iphone ist für mich eigentlich nur ein nettes ding zum herumspielen; aber tatsächlich verwende ich meinen blackberry
– UMTS: feine sache, da ja das surfen, google maps etc bisher schon viel spass machte – für das syncen sicher auch kein nachteil 😉
wieder einmal verschlafen hat ibm: das iphone bietet “enterprise support” – d.h. ms activesync. lotus domino? njet. ich bin mir ganz sicher, dass dies nun in einige migrationsüberlegungen miteinbezogen wird bzw gar der auslöser dafür ist; gerade auch die manager finden das iphone einfach sexy – und sind wir uns ehrlich: domino web access (oder heißt es nun doch wieder inotes?) ist nicht wirklich auch nur annähernd eine alternative.
