das domino user license tracking ist prinzipiell eine feine sache; doch eines dürfte ibm nicht bedacht haben (oder ist es absicht?): man macht das ganze ja nur, um herauszufinden, welche useraccounts nicht mehr verwendet werden – doch genau diesen view gibt es per default nicht:

heute kam eine wichtige lieferung – eine 250gb platte für mein nas – notwendig, nachdem ja eine defekt wurde. die bastelstunde eben war ein guter beweis dafür, dass hot plug – wie ich es sonst von den servern gewohnt bin – einiges wert ist 😉
jedenfalls: ich hoffe, dass die nächsten knapp 280 minuten nicht noch eine platte eingeht, denn sonst hatte ich mal daten – also: daumen drücken!
mein pech mit festplatten
zuerst ging vor ca. einem monat die festplatte meiner super fujitsu-siemens kiste ein – ich nehme mal an, es war ein qualvoller hitzetod 😉
ist ja aber nicht so schlimm, da dort keine daten drauf waren – seit dem mir einmal vor langer zeit eine platte voller wichtiger daten hops gegangen ist, habe ich immer alles wichtige auf einem raid liegen; zuhause auf einer buffalo tech terastation.
heute ging auf dem nas eine platte ein 🙁
doch das beste kommt noch: als ich auf meinem notebook gerade auf suche nach billigem ersatz war… genau: ging auch dort die platte ein ❗
sind also 3 defekte platten in einem monat – was kommt als nächstes?

Problematic multi-threaded performance is usually exposed when multiple users connect to a Terminal Server simultaneously using the same print driver. Symptoms include the failure to autocreate client printers, increased thread count of the Printer Spooler and/or Citrix Print Manager services, and possibly the unresponsiveness and/or unexpected termination of these services (crashes).
This tool can be used to simulate multiple sessions autocreating printers using the same print driver.
Notes auf einem USB-Stick
“Nomad” nennt sich das ganze, und ist ein neues feature des 7.0.2er clients. doch das wirklich coole daran ist, dass ihr dazu euren ältesten usb stick verwenden könnt – denn laut ibm benötigt das ganze nur 256kb:
The ability to load the Lotus Notes environment on to a USB flash drive or memory stick — Now with version 7.0.2, users can insert a 256 KB memory stick loaded with their Notes environment into the USB drive on any computer, and with a few simple steps, access their Lotus Notes environment from that computer, whether Lotus Notes was previously installed there or not. When the user is finished and removes their memory stick, none of their data or the Notes icon is left exposed on the host computer. For machines that have a companies’ VPN access present, this feature can provide a fully connected environment just as it is on the users own desktop. For machines without VPN access, this feature provides Lotus Notes in offline mode, similar to using your laptop on an airplane.
