good news: das eu-parlament hat zum glück mit großer mehrheit einen richtlinien-vorschlag des eu-rates über die “patentierbarkeit von computerimplementierten erfindungen” abgelehnt; damit sollte dieses thema – sofern die eu-kommission nicht nochmals solch eine richtlinie einbringt – endlich vom tisch sein.
da können wir alle (entwickler, endanwender) nur glücklich sein – die flut von klagen und der stillstand in der weiterentwicklung wäre mit sicherheit für niemanden (nicht mal für die konzerne) vorteilhaft gewesen.

ums gleich vorweg zu sagen: bis jetzt hatte ich immer eine sehr gute meinung von siemens-, dann fujitsu-siemens pc’s. wir hatten die dinger immer bei meinem vorherigen arbeitgeber und man kann sich echt nicht beschweren: sie waren robust, innen aufgeräumt und durchdacht, leise – kurz: wirklich gute pc’s. einige von denen laufen heute noch im rechenzentrum als “server” – und das 7×24, manche seit gut 4 jahren wenn nicht noch länger.
da liegt es doch nahe wenn man schon privat einen neuen pc kauft sich für einen fuji zu entscheiden: so habe ich mir am 8. jänner 2005 einen scaleo t560 mit intel pentium 4 ht 560 (3,6 ghz), 1gb ddr ram, ati radeon x600 pro vivo sowie einem brenner und einem normalen dvd laufwerk gekauft.
kurz darauf, nämlich am 11. jänner 2005, machte ich bereits meine erste bekanntschaft mit dem bringin-shop in der modecenterstrasse 1, 1030 wien; der grund: das ding gab nach wenigen minuten betriebszeit immer wieder einfach den geist auf.
erste diagnose des technikers: das wird wohl die harddisk sein, das haben viele (und tatsächlich waren auch noch zwei andere kunden mit dem gleichem problem bei der reparaturannahmestelle…). vorraussichtliche dauer: zwei bis drei wochen
am 2. februar der lang erwartete anruf: der pc ist fertig – also hab ich ihn tags darauf abgeholt. es wurde lt. reparaturschein das mainboard und die harddisk getauscht.
doch die freude währte nur kurz:

…. sind leider vorbei. heute bin ich um halb sechs weggefahren, bin aber trotzdem wieder im stau gestanden – trotzdem gut, denn die bahn hatte (hat?) heute “aufgrund von technischen problemen” bis zu einer stunde verspätungen.
in meinem posteingang sieht es auch schon wieder ganz gut aus, zum glück habe ich den müll den ganzen urlaub über immer aussortiert und kleinere dinge (ich gebe es zu) auch gleich erledigt – jetzt stehen noch 26 mails im eingang, die wirklich arbeit bedeuten.
doch zuvor werde ich mir jetzt einen kaffee genehmigen; soviel zeit muss sein
